Piano Lessons
with Kaitlin Homa
Music has been in my family for a long time. My grandmothers on both sides of the family played piano. One grandmother was a music teacher herself, and the other one composed music. I started dabbling on the piano when I was very young. When I was a preteen I started taking lessons from a piano teacher who had also been a classical trained pianist and lounge singer. I later took lessons from a Juliard graduate. I started teaching piano in 2018 and have a lot of fun doing it.
When away from the piano I also enjoy cooking, dancing, and hiking. I have a fluffy, sweet cat named Ruby who loves to listen to piano and will sometimes make a guest star appearance on the lessons. :)
Lesson Packages
All classes are done virtually
All classes include one-on-one teacher instruction. You will receive tips and tricks for effective practice at home. You will learn not only sight reading, technique, and theory, but also have fun doing so with games and creativity builders such as composing and improvisation.
3-5 year olds
Studies have shown children who learn music from a young age do better in other areas of life and academics. It shapes the brain like no other extra curricular activity. Students at this age can get a head start on learning simple songs, ear training, rhythm patterns, improvisation, piano geography and so much more.
6-10 year olds
At this age a child’s hands are more coordinated and can play beautiful music. Lessons will expose young ones to proper technique, piano geography, sight reading, rhythm, ear training, improvisation, hand coordination drills, and even composing.
11-15 year olds
When you're discovering who you are and what you like, self expression can be a wonderful outlet. Students become more aware of what they like and do not like making choosing songs and styles of music more meaningful and motivating to learn. Students can learn chord patterns to their favorite pop songs or favorite songs. All the while they will be growing in good self-confidence and learning to stick to and accomplish specific goals. These are skills that will benefit them in anything they decide to do in life.
Adult students
It’s never too late to learn. Even if you have taken classes as a child you may be surprised how much you have tucked away in your brain just waiting to be awakened again. If you have never touched a piano before, learning something totally new can be an enjoyable hobby where you can let the stress of the day melt away as you take on a new challenge.
But don’t take just my word for it, see what students and parents from our studio have to say!

Frequently Asked Questions
How do virtual piano lessons work?
Believe it or not they work pretty much like in-person lessons, except given the obvious lack of physical proximity. Students still learn all the joys and benefits of playing music, yet from the comfort of their own home. All you need is an internet connection, camera, and simple tripod.
What are the advantages of virtual classes?
You will not only save money on teacher travel fees, you will save time and money by not having to travel yourself. With various camera angles available you can see up close hand position and techniques played, and a wide range of aerial views of instructive playing.
Can young students learn online?
Yes! Many young students have had lots of fun learning from online lesson plans. Some students have been as young as 4 years old. As with in-person lessons, having parental support when needed is appreciated as well.
What about recitals?
For years we have had great success with online recitals. By performing online you take away the stage fright while still building confidence as a musician and a feeling of accomplishment. With the recital being online, you can invite your friends and family who may be out of state or may be living in another part of the world. With no max to the recital hall, a greater number of friends and family can attend.
How do I pay?
All payments are made through either check or Zelle.
